It's been 17 years!! And 12 years of Student Appreciation Events. After a 2-year hiatus, we’re so excited and grateful to be back in the studio dancing with all of you! Thank you for rolling with all the changes with us and continuing to live your passion for dance each day! 🥰
In the tradition of our past Student Appreciation events, we’re hosting a day of workshops, deals on passes for group classes, social dancing all night and some fun games! If you're new to iFS, meet our instructors & helpers, and get a taste of what we have to offer! All dancers (whether ifreestyle students or not) are welcome to join in the fun! SURVIVAL TIPS
Many who attend our Student Appreciation come to both the workshops and social! Here's some tips on how to make the most of the day!
- Give yourself time to find the venue! We're at a new location, so allocate time to find it, park, change your shoes, register, put your stuff somewhere, go to the washroom etc.
- Arrive EARLY! Doors open at 10:30am to check in and pay (cash only)! You can pay for all your workshops at once! If you're not taking the first workshop, come at least 15 minutes before your workshop to check in and pay!
- Bring changes of clothes for workshops. Wear clothes that allow you to move freely! Keep yourself dry for your comfort and your partner's :)
- Stay fresh :) Keep fragrances light, but do bring your wipes, deodorant, breath mints to keep you and others comfortable.
- Bring your camera/smartphone to record the demo at the end of the workshops. *No recording during the workshops. Focus on learning in real-time!
- Bring water to the workshops! You'll need to hydrate during the workshops, so make sure you have water and snacks to fuel your body! You can also bring your own water to the social!
- While we recommend heels for ladies, come prepared with some comfy shoes just in case (especially for those of you taking all the workshops!)
- Check the workshop schedule and sign up ahead of time.
- Check the deals and bring cash! You must be AT the social the take advantage of the deals. We pay the tax! Cash or debit payments only (no credit card payments). The deals will not be extended or offered earlier, so don't miss it. The window ends at midnight.
- Put yourself out there... don't be shy to ask people to dance! Meet new people (don't forget to introduce yourself!), and enjoy Toronto's awesome dance community!
