These 6 week studies (Études) in movement allow you to learn and perform a short choreography focused on a particular area/feel of Latin dance.  Challenge your ability to retain and perform a choreography and  explore musicality. Celebrate your achievement by strutting your stuff ‘on stage’ at local events!

Level:  Intermediate + (in both salsa on2 and Afro Cuban fusion movement) 
Instructor:  Caryl Cuizon
Pre-requisite :  Intermediate and above salsa on2 required. Appropriate for students at iFreeStyle’s intermediate and advanced level classes. Permission by instructor required. Contact Caryl at [email protected] or on instagram at ifreestyledance.

**Assessment required if you have not participated in iFreeStyle's Salsa On2 program.  Previous performance experience not required.

DESCRIPTION
We started with the big band era.  In our second Etude, we’re diving into another major influence in salsa as we know it today - Afro Cuban movement.   Let’s explore the beauty of this flavour (the music and the movement), blending with the more modern and traditional forms of mambo for a fun fusion of movement full of sabor!

✅ Improve your ability to learn and retain footwork through a fun choreography!
✅ Improve your confidence with shines both on an off the stage!
✅ Develop your ear for Cuban music and salsa on2 timing!  
✅ Enhance your coordination, speed, agility, flexibility , fluidity and body coordination!
✅ Build your repertoire of mambo and Afro Cuban fusion movements!
✅ Dance along side like-minded dancers with a goal to improve and have fun!

Important Notes:
1. There will be no “costumes required” rather we will coordinate colors/outfits and/or wear iFreeStyle.ca gear (will vary by project)
2. Timelines are already compressed so you must attend all 6 classes OR book a private lesson to catch up for any missed work.
