13th Intermediate/Advanced Salsa On2 Performance Class

Class Description: This January, we’re excited to offer our 13th Advanced Performance class for intermediate/advanced level salsa On2 dancers who are eager and committed to putting in time and lots of effort into advancing his/her dancing. Train like an iFreeStyle dancer under the direction of Caryl Cuizon and Mo Kobrosli, focusing on On2 technique (both individual and in partner work, body movement, styling, multiple spins, performance presentation spatial awareness and teamwork. Pre-requisites include solid salsa On2 timing, multiple spin technique and in). Performance experience an asset but not required.
Notes: Signing up with a partner is not required but is recommended.

Pre-requisites:
  • Must be available to perform at iFreeStyle's 7th Year Anniversary Celebration in June

  • Assessment may be required
  • Previous performance experience not required but an asset

3rd Intermediate Salsa On2 Performance Class

Class Description: Attention Intermediate Salsa On2 dancers! This Winter we're excited to offer our 3rd Intermediate Salsa On2 Performance class ideal for students who want to be immersed in salsa performance program that helps to develop students coordination in shines, introduces body movement and performance technique at an intermediate level. All participants of this program will spent 42 hours preparing to perform the choreography in front of live audiences. Performance experience not required!
Notes: Signing up with a partner is not required but is recommended.

FAQ

Do I have to audition to participate in the performance class?

For most performance classes, students do not have to audition to join, however there are some pre-requisites to participate. If you are new to iFreeStyle Dance School, or if we have never danced with you, a FREE assessment will be required before acceptance into the class. This is to ensure that the class can learn together at the same level and pace. Any required auditions will be noted in the program description.

What happens if I miss a class?

There are no make up classes for missed performance classes. To catch up with the material, you can schedule a private lesson with your instructor or try to learn the material from one of the other students.

Do I need a partner to sign up? OR If I have a partner can we sign up together?

For most performance classes, signing up with a partner is not required as we will match you with a partner. However, to participate in a Bachata Performance Class, you must sign up with a partner. For other performance classes, you can make requests to be partners but it is not guaranteed. All participants must fulfill the necessary pre-requisites.

What are the pre-requisites to join the performance class?

Each performance class has it's own set of pre-requisites. Please see the program details for specific requirements of the class. If you are unsure if you meet the requirements, please contact us at register@ifreestyle.ca. A free assessment may be required before you are accepted into the program. Students should be committed to attending classes .

Do I have to perform if I join the performance class?

The objective of our performance classes is to prepare student to learn a choreography and performing in front oflive audiences. Some programs (like the shines choreographies) offer a choreography-only options where students can elect to learn the choreography but not perform. Please review the details of the program to know if choreography-only options are offered.

What should I wear to each class?

Students should wear comfortable, loose, stretchy pants. Jeans are not recommended. Tops/t-shirts should also be stretchy, but should be more form fitting to allow the instructor to see and correct body and arm work. Unless otherwise stated, male dancers should wear dance shoes (jazz slippers or dance sneakers) and female dancers should wear high heels (preferably Latin ballroom shoes).

What should I bring to each class?

Our performance classes are intense - we highly recommend bringing your own bottled waterto keep hydrated during class. Please be considerate of other students, and practice good hygiene (keep mints, fresh change of clothes, deodorant on hand).
