| Theme - Mardi Gras | About Mardi Gras “Mardi Gras” (French for “Fat Tuesday”) is one the most elaborate, festive parties of the year, celebrated all over the world. It has traditionally been part of the winter social season, with parades, dancing in the streets, costume balls (some of them masquerade balls), and king cake parties. One of the biggest Mardi Gras Carnivals is New Orleans, Louisiana. The New Orleans Carnival season, with roots in preparing for the start of the Christian season of Lent, starts after Twelfth Night, on Epiphany (January 6). Mardi Gras, has grown in popularity in recent years as a raucous, sometimes hedonistic event. But its roots lie in the Christian calendar, as the "last hurrah" before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras, in short, is a PARTY! |

A portion of each ticket sale will be put in a pot for the lottery. Purchase an advanced ticket and be automatically entered to win in the lottery. When you arrive, you will be given a ticket to enter into the lottery. You can win 50% of the pot, just for purchasing your ticket before December 10, 2011. iFreeStyle.ca will be donating the other 50% to the Fort York Food bank to help make this Christmas just a little more merrier for those in need.

Since 2008, iFreeStyle.ca and guests of our Annual Salsa Chris tams Galas have donated to the Fort York Food Bank with non-perishable food items, toys and a company donation from event ticket sales. The Fort York Food Bank is a member agency of the Daily Bread Food Bank, assigned to service the area covering the Westside of downtown Toronto, from Yonge to Dovercourt, Lake Ontario to Bloor.
