iFreeStyle's 3rd Annual Jack & Jill Competition Saturday June 11, 2011 Estonian House, 958 Broadview Avenue, Toronto Registration Deadline - Competitor Meeting - 8:30pm Compeition - 9pm What is a Jack & Jill Competition? iFreeStyle.ca's Jack & Jill Competition is a “freestyle” dance competition where leaders and followers are randomly matched. Dancers switch partners throughout the competition. Individuals are judged in the preliminary rounds and then as couples in later elimination rounds. Dancers are judged INDIVIDUALLY based on their ability to improvise a dance with different partners. A leader and follower in each division will be chosen by the judges to win. There is a limited participation. Individuals interested must sign up in advance. See below for information about rules, judging criteria, eligibility, registration, and prizes! |

Registration SIGN UP DEADLINE - June 11, 2011 This competition is open to guests of iFreeStyle.ca's 4th Year Anniversary Celebration on June 11, 2011. To participate, interested competitors must SIGN UP. There is no fee to participate. Space is limited. Your registration will be confirmed when you purchase your event ticket. You can purchase your ticket online or in person |

Jack & Jill Competition Rules 1. All contestants must register in advance. 2. Overhead lifts and flips are not allowed. 3. This competition is judged based on pure salsa freestyling. Any dancing that looks “obviously” choreographed (i.e. synchronized shines sequences) will in result in disqualification. This will be at the discretion of the judges. 4. Dancers must dance salsa. 5. The judges’ decision is final. |

Judging Criteria 1. Fun factor: Do the dancers look like they are enjoying themselves throughout the dance? 2. Timing: Do the dancers stay on a consistent on beat for the duration of the dance (whether on1, on2, or other style) 3. Musicality: Do the dancers show a connection to the music? Or does it look like the quality, style and mood of song isn't a factor in how they "feel" like dancing? 4. Partner Connection: Does the couple show connection in their partner work? 5. Attire will not be judged, but if you look good, you'll probably work it better :) |

iFreeStyle's 6th Anniversary Production "The Arrogant Princess" 1 night only - Saturday June 11, 2011 Estonian House A Puerto Rican Tale of Love, Celebration and the Power of Karma.... Once upon a time, there was a young lady named Rosamada. She was very pretty but very conceited. She thought so highly of herself that she turned down all suitors that came her way; for her, none of them were rich enough or handsome enough. In fact, Rosamada insisted that she deserved no less than a prince. Rosamada felt sadness as the years passed by and she watched with envy as her friends got happily married. Until one day, when a strange but very handsome visitor to the village swept Rosamada off her feet. She fell madly in love with him and they were married in a fairytale wedding. After the reception, the newlyweds went on their honeymoon. When they arrived at the castle chosen by the groom, Rosamada received the surprise of her life! |
