About the Director

Caryl Cuizon
iFreeStyle Director, Instructor, Choreographer, Performer & Event Organizer

Caryl is the co-founder of iFreeStyle.ca and the director of both iFreeStyle.ca Salsa On2 Dance School and Performance Company, iFreeStyle Dancers .

She has been dancing, teaching, choreographing and performing Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha and Merengue since 2000.  After first learning to dance On1, Caryl quickly grew a love for Salsa On2 and began teaching Salsa On2 to new students or seasoned On1 dancers.

Her background in dance includes, hip hop, cheerleading, jazz, Afro-Cuban dance, Latin Hustle, and Latin Ballroom. All of which have, and continue to influence her dance style.

Through the years, she has influenced the style of many salsa dancers through her classes in styling, partner work multiple spin techniques, body isolations, body conditioning within Toronto and internationally. Caryl is known for her musicality, smooth following technique and her control and grace.  She is sought after by students for her technique, connection to students and her excellent ability to breakdown techniques and concepts.
Performing and choreographing are two of her great passions. As a featured couple, and with the iFreeStyle Dancers, she has performed on stages at large events, more intimate gatherings and salsa congresses internationally.

In addition to the teaching, performing and choreographing. Caryl is the event organizer for iFreeStyle's two annual major events - iFreeStyle's Annual Christmas Gala and iFreeStyle's Anniversary Celebrations (held each hear in June) including Toronto's first Jack & Jill annual Latin dance competition.

Caryl has been featured in TV shows such as the "Groomed" on the W Network and "Echo" on Sun TV in an episode featuringAsian artists in Toronto's music and dance community.In addition, she has choreographed for the stage production "The Weeping Salsa" and is the producer, director and choreographer for iFreeStyle's Anniversary Medley Production each year.
